WATCHET STRIVES

Watchet Strives is helping young people all over Watchet.

Led by Andy Westcott, Strives has come on leaps and bounds. You may have seen Andy around Watchet having a chat with young people using detached work to make better connections.

He also worked with a group of young people from Watchet, Watchet Town Council and local Street Artist, Charlie Mcfarley, to complete the new design on the MUGA on the Memorial.

A new club has also started that is project-based and encourages the group to lead themselves. We are still looking for volunteers to skill share and help in areas such as woodwork, upcycling and coding.

‘Bored’ not ‘board’ project exhibition E. Quay

A professional vs a young person's board design

The Board Not Bored exhibition was showcased at East Quay in Watchet. The exhibition was a showcase of skateboard art by young people who don’t usually participate in Youth Clubs.

Attendees at the exhibition and at a Lottery workshop confirmed they could not tell the difference between those produced by the professional street artist and the young people participating.
